When
playing Texas two card holdem poker,
Betting:
during the progress of the hand, you
will have times when you think you have the winning hand, only to see that change
with the next card dealt (face up of course, the only two down you get are at the
beginning).
Winning Hands Checking can sometimes be the wise move when you're
sitting on a great hand. Let one of the others bet for you on the first round,
then you can raise the bet again before the next card is dealt.
Bluffing can be done effectively in a number of ways, but
most important is not how much you bet but rather when you bet. Timing is everything
and this is a very forceful tool when used correctly. And of course, as I
always recommend; have something in your hand before bluffing (ie = pair of
jacks) For instance. say you have a pair of jacks in the hole
and on the flop 3 same suit cards appear. Bet your hand like you had just
completed the flush and likely the opposition will fold.
One way of bluffing that I sometimes use is if the betting around the table has not
led me to believe that anyone can complete the obvious straight showing in the middle of
the table. When that happens you can sometimes bet hard and scare off the other
players. It is wise to use the afore mentioned with a hand of some kind (ie = a pair
of jacks).
Using the "allin"
in NoLimit games. You can also on some games
known as NoLimit stakes, use the "allin" option, which allows you to bet it all and if someone
thinks they can beat you, they too can either choose to "allin" or they
can cover the amount of your bet. This bluff works well when players at the table
face the possibility of losing their entire bank roll if they challenge you.
On the other hand, during a nolimit game;
remember that anytime you challenge someone that has bet it all; you are entering into battle upon their chosen field; not on yours; so despite the fact that the other person is often bluffing;
be prepared to see your opponent turn over a very good hand.
Because even the heavy bluffers are likely going to have a hand every
third or fourth shot; and many will be like me; and have "something" in
their hand before they bluff.
